Consultation on the transposition of Directive 2013/35/EU (EMF)

This consultation seeks views on the UK’s proposed approach to implement European Directive 2013/35/EU on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (electromagnetic fields). This consultation ends on 3 December 2015.

Welding – risk to respiratory health from fume exposure

The Welding Fume Team (WFT) was established by HSE in 2010 and has a broad membership with representatives from across a range of interests. RR1012 – Process evaluation of the Long Latency Health Risks Division (LLHRD) vocational training interventions

Three vocational education and training-based (VET) learning products/materials were developed in order to raise awareness of long latency respiratory health risks in three of the high risk vocational areas affected by these issues. The aims of the study were to explore how the VET materials can be implemented, and the perceived effectiveness of the implementation.

Safe use of Acetylene – new regulations come into force

The Acetylene Safety Regulations 2014 (ASR 2014) came into force on 1 October 2014. The hazards posed by acetylene gas is not fully addressed by DSEAR and so additional legal requirements for its safe use is provided by the ASR 2014 to consolidate and modernise existing legislation.

RR1018 – Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) in the welding environment

The Electromagnetic fields Directive was adopted in June 2013. Member States are required to bring into force any laws, regulations and or administrative provisions necessary to comply with the Directive by July 1st, 2016. This research report considers various types of welding and the requirements of the Directive.
